Although originally from Pennsylvania, she received a BA in Psychology and Political Science from Metropolitan State, Denver and most recently received a M.Ed in School Counseling from the University of Mississippi.
In 2006, I began my career in Desoto County teaching Science at Horn Lake High. She is excited to be here, and to serve the needs of our students, parents, teachers, administration, and the Horn Lake Community.

Tameka McIntyre, who recently joined the Horn Lake High School Faculty, serves as a School Counselor for students with last names beginning with letters E-K. She received her Master of Education in Counseling from Delta State University and her Bachelor of Science from The University of Southern Mississippi. She began her educationally driven career as a teacher from 2015 to 2019. Ms. McIntyre is a School Board member for East Tallahatchie School District and is currently in pursuit of her doctorate in Education and looks forward to the wealth of professional knowledge and experience she can incorporate in her counseling role and endeavors. Her passion entails working with students individually, as well as collectively, parents, and members of the community, to meet the social and emotional, academic, and career-oriented needs of the students of Horn Lake High School. Ms. McIntyre believes in the importance of making sure that every student she encounters, SOAR with hope, determination, and preparation for the future.

Although I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago, I found my way to the University of Mississippi for undergrad. I revived a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications with Minors in Mandarin Chinese and Business Administration. After spending a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA, I realized that my passion was in education and went back to Ole Miss for a M.Ed in School Counseling.
This is my first year at Horn Lake High, and as a school counselor! I am committed to providing my students with the tools they need to flourish in their academic career here at Horn Lake High and in their future.

Ms. Donna Tippitt is a native DeSoto County resident who graduated from Southaven High School. Prior to coming to Horn Lake High in February 2018, Ms. Tippitt was a stay at home mom raising 5 boys for 20 years then worked at Hernando High School as a substitute teacher then as the Cohort Clerk. Ms. Tippitt received her Associates of Business degree from Northwest Community College, her Bachelor of General Studies with minors in Psychology and Sociology, from University of Mississippi, and her Master of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University.
While working on her masters her dream job was to work as a counselor for Horn Lake High. Her mission at HLHS is to empower all students to become problem solvers that can maximize their highest potential by taking advantage of innovative instruction practices insuring they acquire their personal and academic aspirations both during high school and the journey they choose upon graduation.
